New at the beauty counters is Happy Derm Whipped Cream Cleanser from L'Oreal Paris. It comes in a canister pump container which produces a creamy foam. Our tested had mixed reactions to this some saying it was like using shaving cream! However all agreed that the cleanser was otherwise pleasant to use and left the skin feeling silky soft. Our verdict from the comments is that this is a good cleanser and is very gentle on the skin but many of our testers would have preferred a more creamy and less foam like texture to the product and this did put them off the product despite the fact they loved the results!

CLEANSERS

There used to be three basic steps to follow for healthy skin - cleanse, tone and moisturizes. Well we can safely say that cleansing and moisturising are more common now than toning. When using a toner be careful that it is not alcohol based. This will only dry the skin and actually alter the pH balance instead of keeping it even. Below you will find some very good cleansers new to the market and which in our opinion work. As always choose the one you like for smell, texture and how it makes your skin feel. It should leave your skin feeling fresh and not in any way taught or dry. Only use a gentle toner if you choose not to rinse with water.

We gave the Aloe Vera range from the Body Shop a thorough test to make sure that even the most sensitive skin would find the products safe to use. Our testers were very impressed by the products and no one experienced even the slightest reaction from the range of cleansers, toners and facial wash. One of our testers who usually breaks out when using new products found that to her surprise she experienced no reaction and all said they would highly recommend these products to any one with sensitive skin as they are a pleasure to use. All the products are in the average mid-range price point.
